Over de sidste 1-2 år har vi været vidner til fantastiske foredrags- og oplægsholdere, men normalt er en digital forelæsning kun en del af et større program eller en længere forelæsning.
DentaNet Digital Symposium 2017 - Dentists
For the past 1-2 years we have seen great speakers and great lectures but usually a digital lecture is only part of larger programs or part of a longer lecture. Most people have already agreed that digital impressions and scanning are not only the future but also the present.
We feel it is time to fully acknowledge the fact and embrace the future by having our very first DentaNet Digital Symposium held in Copenhagen the 5th-6th of May 2017. It will be two days completely dedicated to digital oriented lectures - in particular scanning - and with the usual high level of speakers, lectures and the special DentaNet “down to earth” social atmosphere. At the same time the two leading companies, 3Shape and Dentsply Sirona, have been invited to present their visions for the future and what developments to expect.
Today the possibilities of scanning are already much more than just making a single crown. It is also ortho, occlusion, biomimetics, planning for implants and micro changes on yearly follow ups. This is why our approach to scanning and digital in general has an extremely interdisciplinary approach with the patient and the digital office as the centre.
Program Friday - for the team
Digitalization will change a lot of procedures and it is important to include and transfer the acquired knowledge to team members in order to gain insight in the digital revolution that dentists are referring to. Therefore, we have outlined a team focused program Friday (mostly in Danish) for hygienists and dental nurses so the whole practice is engaged in these exiting new developments.
Do not miss the social events
As usual we have arranged several networking events, including social gathering Thursday evening and networking arrangement Friday afternoon. We will celebrate Friday evening with a gala and networking dinner taking place at Tivoli Gardens, Nimb Terrasse. We encourage the whole team to participate in the events and network with “colleagues”!
We are looking very much forward to seeing both DentaNet members and non-members for this great event where you will not only look but also take several steps into a new era of dentistry.
Digital Biomimetics – Concepts for Predictive Treatments
Dr. Jan-Frederik Güth
In the dental world currently two megatrends are in focus – one is the digital revolution in technology – the other is the minimal invasive “close-to-nature-dentistry”. At the first glance, these two developments seem to contradict each other. However, looking closer, dentists, dental technicians and patients may find an enormous potential of synergies: Digital technology offers great tools, to get closer to nature-imitating restorations and to respect biological principles. This presentation discusses the application of up-to-date technology, like intraoral scanners, 3D face-scanners, innovative polymer materials and introduces new concepts and their integration into our daily work- and life environment. One emphasis on which the presentation focuses is the extensive win of information and analysing methods due to digital technology that leads to more predictability regarding the treatment outcomes.
You will learn:
- The latest technological developments in dentistry.
- Digital trends in fixed and removable restorations.
- Trueness and precision of intraoral scanning and digital treatments.
- The advantages of the Munich Implant Concept.
- How digital technology supports biomimetic treatment concepts.
- The “digital key to aesthetics”.
- The advantages in handling complex situations using digital technology.
Integration of Digital Technology Today and Tomorrow
Dr. Marko Ahonen, Dentsply Sirona
The merger of Dentsply Sirona has created synergies across dental specialty fields. This lecture will bring insights into the possibilities that integration of digital technologies provide in the dental office.
You will learn:
- How the digital technology allows for integrated workflow that create safer, faster and more convenient treatments to the benefit of both clinicians and patients.
- Review of selected clinical cases covering restorations, orthodontics, implantology and endodontics.
The Future of Scanning
VP. Rune Fisker, 3Shape
Within a relatively short period of time 3Shape has become one of the market leaders within digital scanning. Not only have they continuously developed the core and speed of their scanners but their different Trios apps enable both general dentists and specialists to enhance their level of expertise within different fields of dentistry. In this lecture 3Shape will share their view of not only present but indeed future possibilities within scanning.
You will learn:
- What are the biggest challenges we are facing in integrating the scanner into different parts of everyday dentistry?
- What developments and integration will we see in 2-3 years?
- Where are we perhaps going in 5+ years?
Ultimate Conservative Dentistry - Simple to the Ortho Restorative in the Digital Practice
Dr. Tif Qureshi
Dr. Tif Qureshi will outline how digital dentistry is more than just hype. If properly understood the benefits to practice and patient can be huge. This may be from simple impression taking, digital photography, to providing the ultimate form of medico-legal consent. Tif will cover how various areas of digital dentistry can improve the workflow but also dramatically improve the quality of what we deliver to patients and how we convey our goals, which means patients can be with us every step of the way. He will discuss which areas may help you best augment your practice, and understand how to implement these into practice.
In modern dentistry there are many solutions to treatment of tooth wear, such as using porcelain veneers or crowns for local treatments or even full-mouth rehabilitation. While large scale ceramic treatments might be life-changing for some people, it can for many be argued as destructive overtreatment and a lack of focus on simpler, less expensive treatments, which means that many patients are not offered these options because dentists are simply unaware of them. Tif will cover the latest techniques in digital analysis and planning regarding simple orthodontics and restorative dentistry in the digital practice.
You will learn:
- Understanding the importance of Anterior Orthodontic Occlusal Planning through digital control.
- Treating patients over the lifetime - observing wear and functional change - intercepting with ortho restorative.
CAD-CAM Chairside Restorations: Clinical Applications
Dr. Roberto Spreafico
The CAD-CAM concept in dentistry was introduced at the beginning of the 1970’s. Over the last forty years the technology has developed and improved. Nowadays the CAD-CAM technology is used in both the laboratory and in the dental practice. Today glass ceramic and composite blocks can be employed for the milling of partial and full crowns restorations of anterior and posterior teeth. This can be performed directly in the dental practice and in a single session.
The aim of this lecture is to discuss the clinical applications and the clinical procedures for the realisation of CAD-CAM chair-side restorations.
You will learn:
- Introduction to chair-side dentistry.
- Digital chair-side dentistry: advantages and disadvantages.
- Restorative materials for chair-side dentistry.
- Current clinical applications of digital chair-side dentistry.
- Step by step of clinical procedures of digital dentistry.
The Art and Science of Combining the Digital and Analog Concepts into Everyday Dentistry
Dr. Anas Aloum
Lately, we have hearda lot about the digital integration of technology into our practices. However, the traditional analog way has been implemented for years. What are the challenges we face when incorporating the digital workflow into our work? Is it truly full digital? How can the analog ways assist the digital into having a predictable outcome for everyday clinical scenarios? How can we implement different ceramic materials and benefit from them? All these questions and much more will be answered and discussed in the presentation.
You will learn:
- How the digital work flow made the restorative-lab communication easier and more predictable.
- Demonstrate the importance of key photos for the digital work flow.
- Demonstrate how scanners work vs. traditional impressions - are scanners enough?
- Teeth preparations veneers vs. crowns, and ceramic material selection in everyday practice.
- Demonstrate the surgical work flow in implants and full-mouth rehabilitations.
Occlusion, Aesthetics and the Digital Revolution
Dr. Ian Buckle
Digital technology is revolutionising dentistry and dental practices. There is no doubt that it can improve accuracy, efficiency and productivity but if we are not careful it could just get us into trouble more quickly.
In this presentation, Dr. Ian Buckle will discuss the technology available to aid us in examination, record collection, and diagnosis. He will then demonstrate how to use this information, blending digital with time tested conventional methods, to develop a treatment plan that will produce beautiful aesthetics based on sound occlusal principles. Finally, Dr. Ian Buckle will discuss how to use digital solutions to deliver the proposed treatment.
You will learn:
- Understand the concept of complete dentistry.
- Understand how to use digital technology to aid examination and diagnosis.
- Four occlusal goals for predictable success.
- A step by step approach to predictable treatment planning.
- Develop a knowledge of the technology available for restorative and orthodontic procedures.
