MINIMAL INVASION FOR MAXIMAL SUCCES

Theory: Adhesion, Occlusion and Traditional Preparation

Traditionally full mouth rehabilitation has involved invasive treatment protocols often utilising full coverage crowns. This can be destructive of tooth substance, expensive for the patient and when it fails it can fail with disastrous consequences. These days both dentists and patients alike are looking to conserve tooth structure and provide cost effective solutions whilst at the same time maximising aesthetics and allowing treatment to be scheduled over time.

You will learn:

  • What Minimally Invasive (MI) dentistry is.

  • Why repairability may be more important than longevity.

  • MI dentistry and the Concept of Complete Dentistry.

  • When MI dentistry is appropriate and when it is not.

  • Classification and aetiology of tooth wear.

  • Diagnosis and treatment planning.

  • The Dahl principle – where, when, and how.

  • The diagnostic wax up for MI dentistry.

  • Matrix fabrication for moulded techniques.

  • Material selection.

  • Preparation design.

  • Different techniques for different situations.

    • Free hand guided.

    • Partial moulding.

    • Full moulding.

    • Indirect.

    • Direct-Indirect.

  • Risk management.
  • The keys to long term success.

What others said about Dr. Ian Buckle

I´ve been on several courses both lectures and hands-on with Dr. Buckle. First time I saw him was in 2015 in his clinic in Wirral, U.K. where I started my Core Curriculum in the Dawson way of Complete Dentistry.

He runs at wonderful clinic with well educated staff. I was very inspired by that alone.

Dr. Buckle himself is one of a kind. He gives excellent thorough lectures about complicated dental topics, seems so easy for him. Inspires you to go home and do your best.

He is very true to the Dawson philosophy and teaches you to follow a safe path to go home and do the same. Still its evident that he knows how to combine taking good care of your patient, educate your staff, make good decisions that will make you sleep well at night, knowing you´re well taught by one of the best lectures in Europe.

I´m always looking out to new courses by Dr. Buckle, know i´m gonna learn more every time.

Saturday

1 day hands-on course

HANDS-ON PROGRAM

There is no one technique, material or procedure that will solve all our patients’ problems. In the first day’s lecture we discussed the aetiology, diagnosis and management of tooth wear with particular reference to maximum preservation of tooth substance. During this fast paced completely hands-on program we will use practical exercises and demonstrations to help you develop multiple solutions you can utilise in your every day practice.

The practical class is a natural partner to the theory course held Friday and gives you the possibility to transfer theory into practice. It is held Saturday the 9th of June 2018 and is optional.

What others said about Dr. Ian Buckle

It all comes together! Attending Ian Buckles post-graduate course in England (Dawson Academy UK) has really unified the threads. Ian has attributed to creating an overview, in order to make it possible for participants who are single-teeth-dentists to get the overall impression of the full set of teeth, including muscles, jaws and the joint of the jaw.

Suddenly there is an overall understanding of the correlation between things. Everything you already know, is unified in one big AHA-experience.

The synch between theory and hands-on joins together to form one unit, and maximizes the outcome.

The fact that Ian teaches in his own charming and non-american way only contributes to make the course even better.

The only complaint is that I should have attended this course a long time ago :-)

Steffen Rahbek, Denmark

For those, who haven't heard Ian Buckle teach, an outstanding experience awaits. His enormous professional knowledge and conscientious attitude towards securing the best treatment for his patients, combined with his wit is inspirational and educative. Entertaintment on a high professional level. You should travel far for the purpose of experiencing Ian teach.
