Broken instrument retrieval is one of the most challenging aspects of modern endodontics. This one-day intensive course, led by the eminent Dr. Waleed Kurdi, will provide participants with the essential knowledge, techniques, and hands-on experience needed to successfully bypass or remove fractured instruments while preserving tooth structure and improving patient outcomes. Course Objectives:
Understand the causes and risk factors of instrument separation in root canals.
Learn decision-making strategies: when to bypass, remove, or leave the broken instrument.
Master the latest techniques and tools for bypassing and retrieval, including ultrasonics, micro-trephining, and loop techniques.
Gain practical experience through hands-on training with simulated cases.
Learn how to prevent instrument fracture and manage complications effectively.

Live Demonstration: Step-by-step approach to real case scenarios.

Saturday - Hands-on - 8 spots - Saturday 18th of Apr. - 9.00-12.30 The hands-on course part takes place next to the venue hotel at the Rodbehandlingscenter course facility containing 8 full stations including a microscope each!

This course places a strong emphasis on practical experience, allowing participants to develop their skills in a controlled and supervised setting. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Waleed Kurdi, attendees will work with extracted teeth and specialized training blocks to practice various bypass and retrieval techniques.

Participants will learn to use advanced tools, including:
Ultrasonic tips for precise and controlled removal of fractured instruments.
Micro-trephining techniques to expose and retrieve deeply embedded fragments.
Loop and tube techniques for safe instrument retrieval without excessive dentin loss.
Working under microscopes to improve visualization and precision.
Throughout the session, Dr. Kurdi will provide one-on-one feedback, helping attendees refine their hand skills and gain confidence in their approach. Simulated clinical scenarios will challenge participants to make real-time decisions on whether to bypass, retrieve, or manage a fractured instrument conservatively.
By the end of the hands-on training, participants will have the experience and knowledge to apply these techniques successfully in their own clinical practice, minimizing patient risks and improving long-term treatment outcomes.

Dr. Waleed Kurdi
Dr. Waleed Kurdi is an Endodontic Lecturer and Clinician with more than 13 years of experience in root canal treatment, restorative dentistry, and dental hygiene. He holds a Bachelor of Oral and Dental Medicine (B.D.S., 2009) and a Master of Endodontics (M.D.S., 2013) from Cairo University, where his research focused on the effect of occlusal reduction in postoperative pain.
He is the Owner and Endodontist of BW Dental Clinics in Cairo since 2013, and has served as a Dentist in the Egyptian Ministry of Health (since 2009) and as an Endodontist in the Egyptian Armed Forces (2013–2016). Dr. Kurdi has been an active lecturer and speaker at international conferences and expos across China, Egypt, Poland, Albania, India, Morocco, and the UAE.
Professionally, he is a Course Director for Endo-Dam Team with more than three years of teaching experience (18 credit hours of lectures and workshops), and Course Director of “Bypass Like a Boss” program with over nine credit hours. He is a Silver Member of the STYLE ITALIANO Endodontics Group, a previous Bronze Member in 3D Cleaning Project, and an Honorarium Member of Endohavelii Group.
